STEM @ St Stephen's

At St Stephen’s we apply a future focused STEM approach, as we integrate and connect the V9 Australian Curriculum areas of Science, Technologies, Mathematics and HASS. Using the context of the environment and the cross curriculum priority of Sustainability, interdisciplinary STEM lessons will take place at Sheepstation Gully Environmental Learning Centre to provide an effective ecological education for all our students.

We are shaping responsible environmental citizens

Through interactive and hands-on lessons, we want to engage our learners, develop important 21st Century skills and widen their knowledge and experiences with the world around them. Our aim is to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to participate, innovate and lead in a sustainable world.

We are called to action through Laudato Si’

Pope Francis' encyclical titled Laudato Si' is about caring for our common home. It emphasises the urgent need for environmental stewardship and sustainable living from all Catholic people. By aligning our efforts with its principles, St Stephen's is not only responding to a global call to action but also nurturing a sense of responsibility and stewardship amongst its students.

“All of us can cooperate as instruments of God for the care of creation " (Laudato Si' 14)
